Formed in 2008, the ensemble is an ambassador for the Denver Chapter. They perform early jazz before diverse audiences with a goal of introducing the recorder to a broad range of listeners.

They meet weekly in one of the member’s homes. Membership is by invitation. They are brushing up their repertoire and plan to create a demonstration CD. Recorders rock and they prove it at their performances.

The Warrensburg Recorder Consort has been in existence for approximately 30 years. It is a performing consort located in Warrensburg, Missouri, about 60 miles east of Kansas City, Missouri. Repertoire is mainly European Renaissance and classical music from all eras, and includes some folk music. Performance venues include/have included formal concerts, arts events, art gallery shows, weddings, incidental music for plays, and Renaissance Festivals. The most recent performance was a concert of American music in conjunction with the Smithsonian New Harmonies traveling exhibition. The group presently consists of nine players and is open to new members.
