Our Commitment to Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how we collect and use your personal information. It also explains the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.
 
The Information We Collect
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the American Recorder Society website (www.americanrecorder.org). On some pages, individual members can enter member data, make requests, and register to receive materials or participate in events, and more. The types of personal information collected at these pages are:

On some pages, administrative level users can submit and access information about other people. For example, if they are editing member data, they will need to submit the member's address. In this circumstance, the types of personal information collected are:

How We Use Information
We do not give or sell any of your information to advertisers or non-ARS members.
We use return email addresses to answer the emails we receive. We use email addresses on file to distribute renewal notices and electronic publications. Members may opt out of receiving electronic publications either through their member profile preferences, or with an unsubscribe link in each electronic publication.   Member data is also published in a Member Directory which is made available only to other members of ARS.  Members may opt out of a listing in the directory, or may hide their mailing address and/or email address through their member profile preferences.  ARS may release your contact information, including mailing address and email address, to certain ARS members including Partner members (workshops), Chapters, Consorts, and Recorder Orchestras.  Members may opt out of this release through their member profile preferences.  For questions, please contact director@americanrecorder.org.

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are pieces of data stored on a visitor’s hard drive. Credit Cards
ARS does not retain any member credit card information. Credit card information is collected by our web hosting service, Vieth Consulting, at the time of purchase, but is not stored. Vieth is a PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliant service provider. All credit card information is accepted under SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption.
 
How You Can Access or Correct Your Information
You can access all your personally identifiable information that is collected online and maintain it in your Member Profile within the password-restricted Member’s Area. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
